What WARN stores

  • A random device ID generated in your browser. It is not linked to you.
  • One coarse recent location per device, overwritten each update, used only to decide who is near enough to warn.
  • The reports you submit: location, species, condition and any note you add.
  • Your alert preferences, and a push subscription if you enable alerts.
  • An optional email address, only if you enter one.

What WARN does not store

  • No accounts, names, phone numbers or passwords.
  • No trip history or location trail — only your latest position.
  • No advertising or analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers.

Sharing

Aggregated, anonymised corridor data may be shared with municipalities, conservation authorities and the Ministry of Transportation to inform signage and wildlife crossing decisions. Shared data contains no device IDs and no individual identifiers.

Retention

Individual reports are retained for corridor analysis. Push subscriptions are cleared after 180 days of inactivity. Alert delivery records are deleted after 90 days. You can clear your device ID at any time from the settings page.
